There are many options when choosing an emergency shelter to prepare for any major disaster. We are here to help you make good decisions, regardless if you choose to build through us, or another builder, we are here for you and your emergency preparedness needs.
There are a handful of custom underground emergency shelter builders in the USA, but how can you know which one has your best interest in mind and not just looking to make an easy profit? Just read through their websites. Here are some helpful tips to guide you:
1) If their website is overloaded with information, beware, its a salesmen's tactic. They want you to feel as if you need them because there is too much for you to know or understand about an emergency shelter and how it can protect you. In reality, it is not that difficult to set up a shelter to protect you from catastrophic disasters.
2) They will tell you that their shelter is the best, and don't buy concrete, culvert, or fiber glass shelters. Again, this is another salesmen's tactic. the US Government even uses culverts and reinforced concrete shelters today. These are the strongest methods to safe guard you from major disaster. Fabricating an all steel box shelter is expensive because its labor intensive, but they are still a great option. Now, they cannot withstand the same pressures and flexibility as a culvert shelter, but they are more comfortable due to their box design. This is also the same for concrete shelters. Avoid shipping containers and fiberglass shelters, that much is true. In our opinion, Culvert shelters are the best bang for your buck. Even scientist and engineers will agree.
3) Who owns the company and designs their shelters? Business men. these guys are fabricators who found a niche market to build shelters. Some are good, others are BAD. Our company was born much differently. We were founded by Military Combat and S.W.A.T. veterans. We have real life experience with disasters and security threats, and we know how to deal with them. We teamed up with experienced fabricators, engineers, and nuclear bunker experts, to design our shelters. Our team as a whole is what Spartan Survival Systems is. Other builders, well, not so much.
